Type of Jetting nozzles for unclogging

As you may know, a nozzle is a component in the drainage system that sprays high-pressure water inside the pipes to ensure proper maintenance and cleaning. It’s a key part of the piping network, since without regularly flushing waste from inspection chambers using high-pressure water, clogs in the drainpipes would be much more frequent and problematic. Depending on your pipe system’s maintenance needs, size, and material, some types of nozzles will be better suited than others.

All Types of Jetting Nozzles: Find the Right One for You

types of nozzles

All nozzle varieties can be classified based on where they’re used in the pipe system or their level of specialization.

There are two main types of general-use or cleaning nozzles: one with several rear jets for basic maintenance, and another with a front jet in addition to rear jets angled at 7 degrees. This second type is more effective for clearing out sand, soap, or lime buildup, since the front jet helps break through blockages.

Another group includes technical or high-efficiency nozzles, such as the Anacondas, used in installations with bends over 45° in the inspection chamber. These are similar to cleaning nozzles but have a front jet angled at 30°.

Rotating or spinning nozzles are especially useful when the interior walls of the pipe are severely damaged. They help remove stuck-on debris and can even cut through roots. They operate in a fan-like motion and usually have two front jets and one rear jet.

Finally, among the different types of nozzles, drag and final cleaning nozzles have a much higher water flow through their eight rear jets, making them ideal for flushing out all remaining debris from the pipe.
